Term Definition
Chronity Connect The compliance platform that sits alongside your AI assistant and captures an auditable record of every AI-assisted action.
Claude The AI assistant your team uses for day-to-day work (email, calendar, Teams). Provided by Anthropic.
Observation A timestamped record of a single AI-assisted action — e.g. "drafted an email" or "searched the calendar".
Track 1 (Formal) An observation that touches a formal deliverable. Requires a named qualified professional to take responsibility. A reliability file note is auto-drafted.
Track 2 (Workflow) An observation relating to routine professional work. Logged and included in quarterly dip-sampling checks.
Track 3 (Non-material) An administrative or trivial observation. Logged only — no review required.
Sensitivity How confidential the data involved is: public, internal, confidential, or restricted.
Reliability file note A written record (required by the RICS AI Standard) explaining how AI was used in producing professional work. Auto-drafted by Chronity Connect.
Material Impact Assessment (MIA) Your firm's signed register of approved AI use cases — called the "taxonomy" in Chronity Connect.
Taxonomy The digital version of your MIA. Each entry is a use case with an assigned track and sensitivity.
Dip sampling A quarterly random selection of Track 2 observations for manual quality review.
Risk register A quarterly document summarising your firm's AI risk posture, auto-drafted and signed by your AI Lead.
Client opt-out A keyword-based block/warning system for clients who've declined AI use on their matters.
Supervisor A senior team member who oversees their reports' AI activity and receives daily digests.
Global instructions The standing instructions your AI assistant follows, including your firm's compliance rules and context.
Seat A subscription unit — one seat per team member who uses Chronity Connect.
Sign-off Formal approval of a Track 1 observation by a qualified professional (legacy workflow, being phased out).
Alert A compliance exception detected by the overnight classification cycle — e.g. restricted data in an email draft.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

"My team member's status shows 'Invited' — they haven't completed setup"

Ask them to check their email for the invitation from Chronity Connect. The email contains a link to the setup flow, which guides them through connecting their Claude assistant. You can also click Resend on the Users page to send the invitation again.

"The compliance dashboard shows 0% classification"

Classification runs overnight. If observations were captured today, their classification will appear tomorrow morning. If classification stays at 0% for more than 24 hours, contact support.

"A user can't draft emails through Claude"

Check their write permissions on the User Detail page. Email, calendar, and Teams write capabilities can be toggled individually per user. Also check that their MCP connection is active (status should show "Connected").

"I can't see the Taxonomy, Risk Register, or other governance pages"

These pages are part of the automatic compliance pipeline. If they appear empty or unavailable, check with Chronity support to ensure the pipeline has been activated for your organisation.

"Our subscription is past due and the workspace is in read-only mode"

Go to Billing in the sidebar and click Manage Billing to update your payment method in the Stripe portal. Once payment is resolved, full functionality will be restored automatically.

"How do I export our compliance data for an audit?"

Use the Audit Reports page (under Governance) to generate quarterly or annual reports. Click Export CSV to download the data. You can also download the Due Diligence Pack for a summary of your compliance framework.

"An alert was triggered but it looks like a false positive"

Open the alert detail page, review the detection details (click "Show why this fired"), and if you're satisfied it's not a genuine issue, click Acknowledge with a note explaining your reasoning. The acknowledgement is recorded in the audit trail.
